Liquid Ring Vacuum Pumps:
Seal(s) and a Seal Water System can work together to protect a Liquid Ring Vacuum Pumps.
Seal Water System for Pumps:
A once-through system (no recovery), or a partial recovery system, or a closed-loop seal water system (recirculation loop) can be used to protect pumps. A closed-loop system can potentially include the following: seal water pot or tank (small water reservoir), level switch, level gauge, heat exchanger (air cooled or liquid cooled), recycle pump, pressure gauge, strainer or separator or filter, flow switch or flow orifice or flow control valve, sight flow indicator, valves, temperature instrument, control panel, and other related controls. The water is used to “flush out” the seal; and a heat exchanger (if needed) keeps water going to the seal at an ideal temperature.
